What is Love?
Real love is hard to define and hard to recognize; often we accept counterfeits. Some people think they can identify love by the strong emotion they feel. I don’t agree with that. If I loved only when I felt like it, I would not love often.
Let me suggest that love is more than a feeling, an emotion, or an expression. Love is a commitment.
When you love someone you invest in that relationship, and you exhibit faithfulness. True love is not selfish. True love is willing to sacrifice for the other.
The Bible says that the greatest expression of love ever recorded was when Jesus Christ willingly died upon the cross in your place. He did it for you and for me.
We love imperfectly, but Jesus has perfectly loved us. And because of His love, there is hope with God.
Let me suggest that love is more than a feeling, an emotion, or an expression. Love is a commitment.
