Complete Forgiveness

Don was a 65-year-old man who had battled alcoholism pretty much all his life. Years of hard living was written all over him. Then at age 64 he finally received Jesus Christ as his Savior.

Don knew that he had been forgiven, but he still lived with a bit of doubt. Could God forgive him totally? After 64 years of messing up, is it all gone in one shot just like that?

Don needed to remember the cross of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that “The blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, purifies us from ALL sin.” (1 John 1:7) That’s not just the little sins – it’s ALL sins.

The next time someone tells you they’ve done something that’s too bad for God to forgive, remind them of the Good News of Scripture:  God’s forgiveness is free and complete; enough for any sin.
