The Undivided Heart

Is your heart divided? A tension?

A wrestling between what you want to do and what you actually do? Maybe thoughts that pull you this way or that? Maybe your loves?

You love what is good, but you also lean toward loving things that are destructive and damaging to yourself and the people you love. This tension can at times be so overwhelming and very discouraging.

In Psalm 86 the writer asks God for an undivided heart. Have you ever asked Him for an undivided heart?

The more accurate translation is: give me undividedness. May I be united with you, Lord, in my thoughts, in the leanings of my desires, in my loves!

You can ask Him, “Lord, give me an undivided heart.”

“May I be united with you, Lord, in my thoughts, in the leanings of my desires, in my loves!”

Psalm 86:11

“Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.”
