Have you given up on caring?

Have you ever felt like there is so much suffering in the world you might as well give up caring?

True, you can’t solve the world’s problems yourself, but hardening your heart to the ache of compassion is not God’s will for you.

In Psalm 82, the psalmist calls on God this way:

Defend the weak and the fatherless;

uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.

Rescue the weak and the needy

He calls on God this way because he knows this is who God is. He is the one who defends and rescues the weak, and needy.

Jesus did that for you and He did it for me when He gave His life to save us. And what a beautiful thing, that His heart broke with compassion for us—so much that He was willing to die in our place.

Don’t harden your heart. Let Jesus soften your heart for the same things that break His.

Remember, there is always hope with God.

“Don’t harden your heart. Let Jesus soften your heart for the same things that break His.”

Psalm 82:3-4

“Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people.”
