Are you feeling a little on edge?

Do you ever find yourself on edge to the point where all it takes is a small annoyance and you’re suddenly angry?

Anger has its proper place, but left unchecked, rage, anger, and bitterness can consume our lives and they can destroy our most precious relationships. What’s really interesting is that most of the time, beneath all that anger is… hurt.

The Bible tells us that the Lord is merciful and compassionate—slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. And of course, we want to be like that, too!

But what I’ve noticed is that wanting to be merciful and compassionate doesn’t necessarily make our anger go away.

Before we can move on from anger, we need to receive mercy and compassion from the Lord in all of our hurting places.

Do you want to become slow to anger and abounding in love? Ask Him to tend to your wounds today.

“Before we can move on from anger, we need to receive mercy and compassion from the Lord in all of our hurting places.”

Psalm 145:8

“The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.”
