Worthy to Wield Loving Power

We often get God wrong. Or maybe we have a warped idea of what God is really like.

We’ll lean one direction or the other. Maybe we think God is soft, almost like Santa—jolly and happy and just wanting to please us. Or maybe we think God is hard, sitting back with his arms folded and watching, waiting for us to make a mistake.

Listen to this verse in Psalm 62…

One thing God has spoken. Two things have I heard; that you oh God are strong, and that you, O, Lord, are loving.

God is the perfect balance of both love and power. He perfectly embodies both and He moves and acts in our lives in both love and power.

Isn't that a comfort that God isn't who we imagined Him to be? He is who He is.
