When God Says No

I know people who are angry with God because they prayed for something and didn’t receive it. But we have to remember that God is not a magic genie. He is a loving Father.

Just as loving parents often have to say no to their children, so God sometimes says no to us.

Children don’t yet have the wisdom to always make good choices. And we don’t always know what is best for our lives either. But God does.

St. Paul had a struggle in his life. We don’t know for sure what it was, but apparently it was a chronic, physical problem. He asked God to take it away, but God did not. However, Paul trusted God to do what was right with this hard thing in his life.

Do you have that kind of trust in your loving, heavenly Father? Can you fully trust Him even when He says no to you? That kind of faith is a powerful witness to everyone around you.

“Can you fully trust Him even when He says no to you? That kind of faith is a powerful witness to everyone around you.”

2 Corinthians 12:9

“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”
