The Lost Son

One of my favorite stories in the Bible is about a son, one of two brothers, who asks his wealthy father for his inheritance. He leaves home for a distant land.

But when he has wasted all he has on wild living, he ends up being so hungry that he's feeding pigs and eating what they are eating.

Then these words – "When he came to his senses."

He remembers his home, his father and his life, and he returns. When he is still a long way away, his father sees him coming and runs to meet him to welcome him home.

Are you on the run? Have you run from your heavenly Father, gone to a distant land? Come to your senses, my friend. Your Father is waiting for you. He's watching on the horizon. He's waiting to run to you to welcome you home and celebrate your return.

Always remember, there is hope with God.

“He's waiting to run to you to welcome you home and celebrate your return.”

Luke 15:20

“So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.”
