Charity

It might not surprise you to know that about 1/3 of all charitable donations are made in the month of December.

Some people give to celebrate the birth of Jesus, God's greatest gift to us. Others get year-end bonuses, and they can share out of that. But whatever the reason, charitable giving does go up at the end of the year.

It seems harder for people to give when it's not part of the holiday season. If we put love in the picture, though, we're motivated to give all year around.

In First Corinthians chapter 13, the Bible says, If I gave everything I have to the poor, I could boast about it. But if I didn't love others, I would have gained nothing.

We have an idiom to describe that. It says this, cold as charity. Giving without love is like a chore while giving with love is a privilege and a joy.

Do you have money, time, talents, or wisdom? Lovingly share what God has given you.

“Giving without love is like a chore while giving with love is a privilege and a joy.”

1 Corinthians 13:3

“If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.”
