Not My Will, but Yours

The night before Jesus would be crucified, He prayed with great faith:

“My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”

Jesus knew what lay ahead…the cross…a cruel form of torture for the worst criminals. He knew He was destined for a slow and painful death. Yet in that moment, He surrendered His own will to the will of the Father who had sent Him.

Can you imagine the strength of faith it must have taken to cooperate with God’s plan?

As a result of His obedience, Jesus overcame death. His blood made a way for humanity to be reconciled to God.

What do you think God’s will is for you? Are you willing to obey Him even if it scares you?

Remember, there is always hope with God.

“His blood made a way for humanity to be reconciled to God.”

Matthew 26:39b

My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
