Life Is a Marathon

You may have heard a preacher urging the congregation to keep an eternal perspective.

Well, life is not a sprint; it's a marathon.

Sprinters run fast and burn out quickly. A marathon runner focuses on keeping a steady pace for a long period of time.

You may have important things to work toward in this moment, in the short term, but God says that what really matters, in the long run, is your relationship with Him. If you start with that, the rest of your life will fall into place.

As you develop that relationship with your Lord and Savior, your actions will come into line with his will for you. You will also experience His power in your life and you will have the endurance needed for the marathon.

Hang in there for the long run. With God's help, you will keep that eternal perspective and your life will be a blessing to those around you.

“Hang in there for the long run. With God's help, you will keep that eternal perspective and your life will be a blessing to those around you.”

Hebrews 12:1

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”
