Jesus, the Servant King

We expect a king to live in a palace, drive around in a Rolls Royce, and be treated with deference and respect.

However, when Jesus, who is the King of kings, came into our world, He did not demand any special treatment. He was born into humble circumstances and lived simply all His life.

Jesus Himself said that He came to serve, not to be served. In the end, He gave His life for us all.

If the Lord of all served rather than demanding service from others, we certainly cannot consider ourselves too important to serve those around us.

We are not more glorious than God. In fact, it should be our goal to bring glory to God through our humble service in His name.

Ask God to give you opportunities to be of help to your neighbors, coworkers, friends, family members. Then watch as He opens doors for you to demonstrate His love to others.

“If the Lord of all served rather than demanding service from others, we certainly cannot consider ourselves too important to serve those around us.”

Matthew 20:28

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
