Is there hope?

Which of us is immune from the hopelessness we feel in unemployment, the anguish of a fragmented family, the crushing pain that comes from losing a loved one, or any of the thousands of other problems we have?

We feel trapped and submerged by the weight of our circumstances and wonder, “Is there hope? Is there really any hope of overcoming all these problems?”

The apostle Paul knew what it was to suffer loneliness, betrayal, poverty, sleeplessness, immense pressure, and far worse. What kept Paul from going under? It was his utter confidence in God. In Romans 8 he said, “In this hope we are saved.”

When it comes to the question of hope, related to peace in the trials, Jesus Christ says, “Yes, I am your hope.”

“When it comes to the question of hope, related to peace in the trials, Jesus Christ says, ‘Yes, I am your hope.’ ”

Romans 8:24

“We were given this hope when we were saved.”
