God Is My Refuge

Most of us, I’m sure, feel stressed out watching the news reports.

There are so many problems in the world, but for the most part, they are not our burdens to carry. Besides, we have a refuge, a sanctuary from the stress and strife of the world.

Psalm 91 in the Bible says, “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.”

That is ultimate security! Put your trust in God. Without Him there is no shelter from the division and anxiety of the world, but in Him we can find peace.

There are times to take part and do what we can in God’s mission of justice. But there are also times we simply need to rest, knowing He has it handled.
