Fearing Change

If you are one of those people who welcomes change in your life, then you probably look forward eagerly to what this new year will bring.

The thing is, we usually welcome change only when it is change we want. If change comes in the form of something unexpected such as being laid off, or being diagnosed with a serious disease, we might panic, or retreat into depression.

Change is inevitable. But one thing we know for certain is that regardless of the changes we experience, God is with us. You can face whatever this year brings, whether planned or unexpected because Jesus is with you. He will be your strength.

Deuteronomy 31:6 tells us not to fear, “for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you.”

Jesus repeated this promise in the New Testament. You can count on it.
