A New Name

In ancient days, names meant so much more than they do now. I’ve always disliked my name.

My name is Wendy. It means “wanderer,” and for many years I was a wanderer – discontented where I was, always wanting to be somewhere else. My sister’s name means “worthy to be loved” and I wanted that name instead.

Do you feel defined? Maybe not by your name, as I did, but maybe by your circumstances or your past pain, or parts of your personality that frustrate you.

The Creator of the universe made you and He wastes nothing. He wants to make beautiful and meaningful things out of your life, but He can only do it if your life belongs to Him. Give Him your life today, my friend.

“The Creator of the universe made you and He wastes nothing. He wants to make beautiful and meaningful things out of your life, but He can only do it if your life belongs to Him.”

Isaiah 61:3

“To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory.”
