Worth Giving Your All

We know that Jesus freely offers everyone abundant life, but just because it’s free doesn’t mean the Christian life is always easy.

G.K. Chesterton once said, The problem with Christianity is not that it has been tried and found wanting, but that it has been found difficult, and left untried.

I myself have had people tell me that they want the life Jesus offers, but they are afraid they would have to give up too much here and now.

The truth is that in giving up our old selves and our old ways, we find abundant life.

Jesus told His disciples,

If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Sure, sometimes the Christian life can be difficult, but a life lived for Jesus is one of true joy and true abundance.

“The truth is that in giving up our old selves and our old ways, we find abundant life.”

Matthew 16:24-25

“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.”
