Will God do whatever I want?

Jesus said, "I will do whatever you ask in my name."

This is shocking.

But have you ever read these words and thought, “Lord, I can think of one hundred things I asked that you didn't do? So, Lord, I'm not sure if I believe this.”?

You know, very often, we read the first part of the verse- I will do whatever you ask, and we forget the significance of the second part of the verse- In my name. Very often, we ask in our name.

The second part of the passage says, So that the Son may bring glory to the Father. This changes everything.

When we ask, do we submit all that we ask to His name and for His glory? Don't stop asking, but ask with humility and a greater Kingdom focus.
