The Word From the Beginning

Have you ever drawn a picture of yourself? Imagine what it would be like if you suddenly became the drawing of yourself rather than the flesh and blood version of yourself.

That’s a strange thought, but that might help you consider how it felt for Jesus to experience the world as a human being. He Himself was formed in a womb. The creator became one of the created. 

In John chapter 1 we read this about Jesus: “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory…”

This is such a mystery! Jesus participated in the formation of the world, bringing light and life to everything. And just as He brought light way back at the beginning of the world, He brings light still.

It is a light that can never be dimmed by the darkness around us. Jesus is the light of the world.
