The Night

Have you had one of those nights when your soul feels tormented? Something you did or said that you’re agonizing about? Possibly a situation that has caused deep grief?

You’re not alone, my friend. Listen to the ancient words of a person who had a night like yours, in Psalm 77: “When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands and my soul refused to be comforted.”

The beauty of this psalm is in the heart posture of the writer. The agony is there but he’s crying out to God for help. The psalm ends with words of deep hope: “You are the God who performs miracles.”

You will have dark nights, but where is your hope? Put your hope in the ONE who is worthy of your trust. He alone is the ONE who can perform miracles on your behalf.

“Put your hope in the ONE who is worthy of your trust. He alone is the ONE who can perform miracles on your behalf.”

Psalm 77:14

“You are the God of great wonders!
You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations.”
