The Advocate
I have never actually been on trial in a court of law, but I’ve seen plenty of movies. The defendant is charged with some heinous crime, and the defense attorney battles to keep his client from going to prison. Sometimes they fail.
Well, I may not have ever been on trial, but I am guilty of plenty of stuff in God’s eyes. The Bible tells us that we have all sinned, and I know that is true.
However, you and I can avoid the punishment we deserve by putting our faith in Jesus, our Advocate. Jesus has already suffered and died on the cross to pay the debt for all the sins we have committed, be they big or small.
If you receive Him as your Savior, putting your faith in Him, He will stand before God on your behalf and plead your cause. Because the debt has already been paid by Him, you will be free to enjoy eternal life.
