Take Off Your Mask

During the pandemic we have all become used to wearing actual masks, but I think some are still wearing metaphorical masks.

When I was younger I used to be a mask-wearer. I had a gnawing feeling that I didn’t matter so I tried hard to look on the outside as though I had it all together.  I hid behind a mask.

Some people were fooled, but I couldn’t fool God. God sees right through our masks, right into our hearts and minds. It may sound scary to be this seen, this known, but there’s good news.

The Bible says, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

God sees through your mask and loves you anyway – so much that He died in your place.

You can come to Him today with your mask off and tell Him what is really on your heart.

“God sees through your mask and loves you anyway – so much that He died in your place.”

Romans 5:8

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
