Spiritual Kintsugi

When a vase or China cup gets broken in our house, it usually ends up in the trash bin. It's worthless, or is it?

The Japanese have an art called Kintsugi, broken pottery is repaired using lacquer dusted with powdered gold. This enhances the cracks, brings a new kind of beauty to the artwork.

Are you feeling broken today? Has life dealt you some pretty hard blows?

Jesus can make you whole again.

You won't be exactly as you were before - you will be better. God's work in you will give you new life - flaws, cracks and all.

In the book of Isaiah, we read that God promised his people that he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair.

Ask God to mend you and make you a new creation of His. You can be a beautiful example of His handiwork.

“Ask God to mend you and make you a new creation of His. You can be a beautiful example of His handiwork.”

Isaiah 61:3

“To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory.”
