Rescued From the Curse

During Jesus’ time, to be crucified not only meant an agonizing death, but utter humiliation as well. The Old Testament of the Bible tells us: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

When Jesus was crucified, He was cursed to the worst kind of death, but because He was perfectly innocent, something happened that no one expected – the curse was broken.

Jesus had no sin in Him, but He took the punishment for sin, so the power of death was broken. Jesus was raised to life after three days, and He made a way for us also to enter into eternal life with Him.

Galatians 3:13 says, “Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing.”

Through His loving sacrifice, Jesus conquered death and hell for us.

Galatians 3:13

“But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.’”
