Prayer Helps Anxiety
Did you know that anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America?
In fact, 40 million Americans over the age of 18 are affected by anxiety – roughly 18 percent of the nation’s population. Perhaps you can identify with this problem. Anxiety affects people in all walks of life, but prayer and trust in God can help us work through anxious situations.
Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
In other words, when you pray and share your feelings with God, He will equip you with peace – even during tumultuous situations.
Who do you know who suffers from anxiety? Do they know Jesus? If not, get in touch soon, offer to pray with them. Then share the Good News with them, maybe even today. Coming into a relationship with the all-knowing and all-loving God can change their life for the better. God says so Himself.
