Motherly Love

Are you a mother? I am. And honestly, there is no love that I’ve experienced stronger than the love I felt when I first saw each of my three children. Overwhelming, determined, protective, selfless love.

God compares His love to us with that motherly love. He says in Isaiah 49, “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!”

It feels impossible that a mother could give birth to a child and not have compassion. And even if that were to happen in this broken and fallen world, God will never forget us. He’ll never forget you.

And we know this is true because He died on a cross for you and for me.

Do you believe this? He will never forget you. Your name is engraved on the palms of His hands.

“He will never forget you. Your name is engraved on the palms of His hands.”

Isaiah 49:15

“Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child?
Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?
But even if that were possible,
I would not forget you!”
