Loving Your Neighbor
What do you think of when you hear the word “love”? Many of us think of hearts, romance, and Valentine’s Day. But you may be surprised to hear that love means something a bit different to God.
The Bible says in Galatians 5 that all God’s commands can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
This means that the very best way to show our love for God is to learn to care about each other as much as we care about ourselves.
Who is your neighbor? It’s everybody besides yourself! God’s definition of love calls us to reach out beyond the comfortable walls of our own homes and truly care for each other.
Love is a big deal to God, and loving others—it can be hard! But we can learn to love our neighbors when we learn how greatly God loves us—and all those other people!
What can you do to reach out and show love to your neighbor today?
