Loving Others

I have plenty of good friends that I love. It's fun to celebrate birthdays and holidays with them or just hang out and watch sports. They love me, they care about me, and it's easy for me to love them back.

The difficulty comes when someone treats us badly and hurts us in different ways, then anger and resentment begin to rise up inside.

We know that God wants us to not only forgive our enemies but to love them too. And that's hard. We have to rely on God to give us the ability to do that.

In First John, chapter four, we read, we love each other because God loved us first. God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for us so that we can be made right in His eyes and our relationship with Him.

If you've received Jesus as your savior, you've been forgiven. You can also forgive someone else, can't you? Yes, you can.

“We know that God wants us to not only forgive our enemies but to love them too.”

1 John 4:19

“We love each other because he loved us first.”
