Light and Love

Martin Luther King Jr. famously said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

The words “light” and “love” seem to mean different things to different people these days. But in the Bible Jesus is defined as light and love.

When we know Him as our Lord and Savior, we find that we are equipped to combat the darkness and hatred in this world. The divine resources of Jesus Christ Himself are available to us.

The Bible tells us that “the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world.” We need spiritual resources. We aren’t capable of mounting an offensive in our own strength. We need to rely on God’s power in us.

If you are a follower of Jesus, you do have that divine power, so don’t be afraid to share His light and love with everyone you meet.

“We aren’t capable of mounting an offensive in our own strength. We need to rely on God’s power in us.”

2 Corinthians 10:4

“We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.”
