Jesus Offers Light

Listen to these words of Jesus right before He went to the cross. He said, “I have come into the world as a light so that no one who believes in me should stay in the darkness.”

The light of the world came, and He promised light for anyone who believed in Him. But then something tragic happened.

He died—a gruesome death on a cross. And it seemed as if the light had been snuffed out—totally gone out. How confusing for His friends and His followers.

But the story wasn’t over.

Jesus, on that cross, took the darkness of the world. He took the sin and the suffering—the grief of this world—on Himself. He absorbed it, but He was more powerful than it.

Because of His death and resurrection…

We can have light.

We can know Him.

We can walk in the light.

And we have the promise of eternity with Him, where there will be no more darkness.

“The light of the world came, and He promised light for anyone who believed in Him.”

John 12:46

“I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark.”
