Hobbies

After a busy day of meetings, phone conversations, recording sessions, and travel preparations, I'm ready for a little downtime. love to get home and watch sports, a football game or maybe work in the garden.

These kinds of hobbies are a great way to unwind and relax. But I need to be careful that they don't become all-consuming. I don't want anything to hinder my relationship with God.

I knew a man named Josh who was into weightlifting, and it had kind of taken over his whole life. And he began to miss church and skipped out on his time with the Lord, all in order to get another workout in.

Thankfully, Josh eventually realized that he was neglecting the things that truly matter. And he turned things around in his life. He didn't give up his workouts completely, but he became much more balanced.

The Bible tells us in First Corinthians chapter 10, "Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." When considering how to spend your time, look through that lens.

“I don't want anything to hinder my relationship with God.”

1 Corinthians 10:31

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
