The Gift of Peace

I recently spoke at a church in central Oregon. Afterwards, a young woman came up to me in tears and said that she really connected with my testimony.

She’d attended church as a child but then went off into the world and never returned. She was involved in all sorts of spiritual exercises and self-help practices but her soul was troubled.

St. Augustine said,

You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you.

The reason this woman didn’t have peace was because she didn’t know Jesus. I was honored to tell this young lady about the sacrificial work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

There is nothing better than pointing searching, anchorless souls to Him. Searching people are there. But, it’s up to us to step up in obedience and tell them the Good News.

“There is nothing better than pointing searching, anchorless souls to Him.”

John 14:6

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
