Facing Challenges

Right after I first began to follow Jesus, there were some radical changes in my life. I told my friends I was a Christian, that I wanted to follow God and go to church. But then I failed miserably. I went to a party with my old friends and I drank too much. I was so ashamed afterward.

At that point I could have just given up and let shame keep me in darkness, but a Christian friend told me this wonderful truth. Through the ongoing work of the cross of Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven. I understood then that I was a baby Christian, and like a baby I might soil myself and need cleaning up.

I asked God to forgive me and cleanse me afresh.  He did, and set me back on the path, following Him.

Don’t despair if you feel you have messed up. Confess it to God and ask His forgiveness.

Always remember, there is hope with God.

“Through the ongoing work of the cross of Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven.”

1 John 1:9

“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”
