Devotion, Not Sacrifice

Do you ever think that you only go to church out of habit? Or maybe, a sense of duty? What has happened to that great desire you once had to grow closer to Jesus?

Jesus doesn’t want you to do things for Him as an employee would do for their boss. He wants the real and honest love and faithfulness of your heart.

In the Old Testament of the Bible, the Israelites would offer sacrifices of animals and foods to God to express their devotion. But more than once God told them, “I delight in faithfulness, not simply in sacrifices.”

Our wholehearted devotion is what God wants, but how do we increase our honest love and affection?

We actually need God’s help in this. Ask Him to give you a new, fresh vision for how you can love and serve Him. I believe this is a prayer He will be delighted to answer!

Always remember, there is hope with God.

“Ask Him to give you a new, fresh vision for how you can love and serve Him. I believe this is a prayer He will be delighted to answer!”

Hosea 6:6

“I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings.”
