Those Who Mourn

Jesus said, “Blessed are those who mourn…” Why would He say such a thing?

Mourning is that deep, dark place of anguish. So why would Jesus say, “Blessed are those who mourn”?

The word blessed means happy and fortunate. Mourning is a place where we desperately need God.

The rest of the verse says, “Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.” By Him! And there is the blessing: Him. Jesus. His powerful, kind, miraculous presence. There is the greatest blessing we could ever receive: Him.

Are you mourning today? Turn to Jesus. Ask Him for comfort. He is the God of the valley, even the valley of the shadow of death.

Always remember, there is hope with God.

“Are you mourning today? Turn to Jesus. Ask Him for comfort. He is the God of the valley, even the valley of the shadow of death.”

Matthew 5:4

“God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
