The Burden of Wandering

Are you a wanderer? Exploration, inquiry, and discovery… are all great things, and we’re made for them.

But wandering can have deep consequences. Where I live in Portland, Oregon, people die every year in our mountains and wildernesses because they get lost.

Listen to these words from Isaiah 53, from the Message version of the Bible:

“We’re all like sheep who’ve wandered and gotten lost. We’ve all done our own thing. We’ve gone our own way. And God has piled all our sins—everything we've done wrong… on him, on Jesus.

Are you a wanderer? Have you gone your own way?

Come home to Him today. He's looking for you, and He’s calling you to your true home.

Always remember there is hope with God.

“Jesus will never leave us. This is the truth.”

Isaiah 53:6

“All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.”
