No Respecter of Persons

Sometimes when I walk into a place where I am not known personally, I feel I am immediately sized up and judged. It often feels as though I am misjudged. You know, the holier than thou preacher guy.

When you don’t know someone you may place them into a category in your mind, based on what your eyes can see.

God doesn’t see people the way the world might, elevating the more beautiful, powerful, rich, young, or capable over the poor, rejected, broken, needy, sick, or old. He sees into the very heart of people – right down to what really matters.

Although we don’t have the ability to do that, we can ask Him to help us not to judge others but to see them through the lens of God’s merciful love.

Remember what we read in James 2: “How can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others?”

“We can ask Him to help us not to judge others but to see them through the lens of God’s merciful love.”

1 Samuel 16:7

“The LORD doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
