What did Jesus say about His mission?

What did Jesus say about His mission when Pilate questioned him?

Before Jesus was crucified, He was sent to a Roman leader named Pilate. People who wanted Jesus killed were complaining that Jesus claimed to be a king. A king rising up outside of the law and order of the Roman empire would have been an unacceptable threat. So Pilate was trying to figure out if Jesus truly claimed to be a king.

Jesus said,

“You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

Jesus told Pilate the reason he was born was to testify to the truth. Testify means to bear witness or to serve as evidence or proof.

Jesus was born, was crucified, and rose again to serve as evidence of the truth that God loves us and is mighty to save us.

He said, “Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

Are you on the side of truth? Do you believe that Jesus is our evidence of God’s love and truth?
