God Is a Good Parent

My friend always says, If there is more than one person in your family, you are a dysfunctional family.

Simply because we are dysfunctional people, and we bring all our stuff into our relationships—into our homes—into our children’s lives.

Sometimes we have so much pain as a result of our family that we are deeply impacted as we walk through life. Healing can feel impossible. The hopeful truth is that your past is NOT the end of your story.

God wants to adopt you into His family, and He is the perfect parent. It doesn’t mean you’ll have a perfect life, but it does mean you can walk daily with a perfect Father.

He’ll never abuse you.

He will never leave you.

He WILL discipline you.

But it won’t be to control you. It will be because He loves you.
