God Created Rest

God created rest. Did you know that? God, Himself rested.

Genesis 2 doesn’t say that God needed rest, just that He did rest. He created the world and then He stopped. 

Sometimes we rest. We stop working, but our souls are not at rest. Sometimes we work so hard, but our souls and hearts are at rest.

True rest comes when we give all of ourselves to Jesus. Not striving to make Him happy but resting in His unconditional love for us.

During the Christmas season, we can be overwhelmed with striving. But Jesus came as an infant; He grew to be a man. He died and He gave His life on a cross, and then He rose again so that you can have rest. More than just a nap, my friend. Rest for your soul.
