Does my hardship define my identity?

Sometimes Christmas movies and TV shows depict the holidays as being about perfect families, about presents, and about Santa Claus.

But Christmas—it is so much bigger than any of that. Jesus didn’t come to fill your stocking. He came to fill your life. A life filled with grace and love.

Whatever hardships you are facing this season, remember—they do not define you. You are more than your circumstances, and with Jesus, no circumstance is hopeless.

In Luke 1, we hear the story of Elizabeth. She and her husband had no children because Elizabeth was unable to conceive, and they were both very old.

And yet, she had a baby who would grow up to announce and prepare the way for the coming of the Messiah!

Don’t let your hardships define you. Instead, this Christmas, ask God to change and fill your life. He will do it!

“You are more than your circumstances, and with Jesus, no circumstance is hopeless.”

Psalm 34:18

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
