Cling to This Promise

No one can deny there’s satisfaction in placing the final piece of the puzzle. At last, the picture that was scrambled becomes clear. Chaos is brought into order.

I wish we could do that with life, don’t you? Somehow figure it out and miraculously fix everything? Well, we can’t.

But there’s someone who can—and it is Jesus.

Isaiah 61 is an ancient prophecy, foretelling what Jesus would do for His people. He will…

…give to all who grieve in Zion, [that’s us!]

a beautiful crown instead of ashes,

oil of joy instead of mourning,

a garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;

so they’ll be called oaks of righteousness

planted by the Lord for his own glory.

Cling to this promise, my friend. Trust in the Lord. He is making something beautiful out of your life.

“Trust in the Lord. He is making something beautiful out of your life.”

Isaiah 61:3

To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.”
