A Life That Takes Us Beyond Ourselves

One of the most hopeful verses in the Bible for our spiritual lives is Galatians 2:20.

Listen to this, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me, and gave himself for me."

I call this the great exchange. This verse is about dying to myself. This is what the cross is all about. And it's what life in Christ is all about.

When I submit my life to Him—when I die to myself—His Spirit comes and lives in me. His powerful presence—His very life. And here is the exchange: when I die, the result is His life—life from death.

Always remember, there is hope with God.

“When I submit my life to Him—when I die to myself—His Spirit comes and lives in me.”

Galatians 2:20

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
