Always Good

In this life there will be great trouble and pain. But God is not the author of evil. God is only and always good. I love the old hymn, “What God Ordains is Always Good.” I’ll share some of the verses with you.
     

“What God ordains is always good; His will is just and holy.
As He directs my life for me, I follow meek and lowly.
My God indeed, in ev’ry need, knows well how He will shield me;
To Him, then, I will yield me.
      What God ordains is always good; He never will deceive me.
He leads me in His righteous way and never will He leave me.
I take content what He has sent; His hand that sends me sadness, will turn my tears to gladness.
      What God ordains is always good; this truth remains unshaken.
Though sorrow, need, or death be mine, I shall not be forsaken.
I fear no harm, for with His arm He will embrace and shield me;
So to my God I yield me.”

I hope this hymn encourages you today. I love the words because they acknowledge that life is hard. That sorrow and death do come, but God is still good through it all. And we must yield ourselves to Him because He promises never “to leave or forsake us”.

What a testimony to a watching world to boldly proclaim that God is always good, so we can trust in His goodness through life’s storms. What a God we serve!
